Meet Luke

I’m an artist and designer interested in colour, texture, nature and the slightly strange things you notice when you slow down enough to look.

Very Strange started as a place to make work outside of the usual commercial design world, without briefs, trends or too many people in meetings. The work is inspired by landscapes, plants, travel and the general idea that life is probably better when you spend a little more of it outside.

Most pieces begin with drawing, painting or mark-making before being pulled apart, layered and rebuilt digitally. I like the imperfections to stay visible.

There’s a loose idea behind all of it: slow down, look around, make things.

Selected works are available as prints, made to bring a little colour, character and strangeness to everyday spaces.

Very Strange also works with brands and people on commissions and collaborations.
